Description

Situated on No. 46 Houhai N. Yan, Xicheng District, Soong Ching Ling’s Former Residence is a tourist attraction that shows ancient Chinese architectural art and China modern and contemporary history. It’s also a national AAA tourist attraction, a major site to be protected for its historical and cultural value at the national level, an ideological education base of the central government department, a patriotism education base for Beijing youth, as well as a capital civilized tourism scenic spot. 
 
The compound that date back to the reign of the Emperor Kangxi was once the mansion of the great scholar Ming Zhu. In Qianlong Period, it was the yard of He Shen and in Jiaqing Period it was the garden of Prince Cheng Yongxing. Later, it owned by Yixuan, father of Emperor Guangxu. In the end of the Qing dynasty, it became the garden of Prince Chun Zaifeng, father of the last Emperor Pu Yi, namely the garden of Prince Regents.
