Shihua Cave, also known as Qianzhen Cave and Ten Buddha Cave ( Stone Buddha Cave), was formed during the earth movement happened 70 million years ago. Shihua Cave Scenic Area

Shihua Cave, also known as Qianzhen Cave and Ten Buddha Cave ( Stone Buddha Cave), was formed during the earth movement happened 70 million years ago. It is located deep in the west mountains of Fangshan District, only 40 kilometers from downtown Beijing. It is the first geopark in China with the theme of natural landscape of karst caves. The structure of Shihua Cave is in the form of floors, and seven floors have been discovered so far. The first to the sixth floor feature cave landscapes, while the seventh floor is an underground dark river. Shihua Cave has an extremely rare underground cave spectacle in northern China. Shihua Cave Scenic Spot has been awarded as Fangshan World Geopark Cave Tourist Area, National Scenic Spot, National Geological Park, National Natural Heritage, National AAAA Grade Tourist Scenic Spot, Beijing Nature Reserve, and Beijing Science Popularization Base. The temperature in Shihua Cave is 13 degrees Celsius all year round, and the four seasons are like spring. It is now open to the public from one to four levels, with a tour route of more than 2,500 meters. It is divided into 16 halls, with a total of 18 scenic areas and more than 120 landscapes.

Tips for visitors:
Wear comfortable shoes, as the cave can be slippery.
Bring a flashlight to better view the cave’s intricate formations.
Start your exploration from the first layer and work your way down. The lowest level features an underground river with soothing sounds of flowing water.
Environment: The cave is elegantly lit with mysterious charm. Be cautious of slippery in some areas.
