There are eight parks in Fangshan World Geopark, of which Shidu Park is the core park.
The scenic area is located deep in the west mountains of the Fangshan District, which is only 40 kilometers away from the downtown Beijing. It is the first geopark in China with the theme of natural landscape of karst caves.
The Zhoukoudian site has two parts: the site area and the museum. It opens to the public all year round.
In 1992, this temple was selected as one of the "World's Best of Beijing Tourism" as the temple with the largest number of stone sutra plates in the world.
