Bussiere Garden is actually a Chinese-style villa featuring ancient Romanesque castle layout. It is the residence of the French doctor Bussiere (or Boussier) in Western Hills. Bussiere has excellent medical skills in general medicine and surgery. He has been devoted to making perfection more perfect, and received wide reputation among Beijing natives.
Perched on the undulating hill, this villa deftly combined Chinese architecture and ancient Roman elements. It comprises three parts: a platform, a barbican and a northern wing. Climbing up along the barbican, you can arrive at a two-floor building with five rooms and hip-and-gable roof on the gentle mountainside in the north. As a combination of Chinese and western styles, it is the main building where Bussiere lives in. The main building is built on the northeastern side of the garden and faces south. It is called as “the north wing” by local residents.
Covering a vast area, this villa is especially famous for its mountain landscapes. Three buildings are scattered in the valley and on the slope, forming a picturesque picture of imposing architectures hidden in luxuriant mountain forest.
