Built on the site of former Niantan Reservoir, Niantan Park retains the original terrain to create ten famous scenic spots, among which priorities are given on such spots as “Dongdi Chunxiao”, “Niantan Yanyu”, “Youzhou Taige”, and “Shuangyi Huazhou”.
Following an overall design that highlights the grace of water and forest and reflects the profound cultural deposits of Daxing, it has built itself a comprehensive urban forest park which displays natural charm, carries on the traditional culture of Daxing, and lays emphasis on the ecological benefits of forests.
On the original terrain of Niantan Reservoir, the park, by means of planting trees and retaining the main lake area, turns it into a retreat covered by water landscape and forest. In addition, the dynamic integration with the planning layout of the new town brings it the landscape integrating city, forest and water system.
Niantan Park occupies an area of 1.67 square kilometers and a large water area, with main scenic spots including Linhai Xunyou, Xixi Qianying, Youzhou Taige, and Shuangyi Huazhou. Entering the park from the north gate, you can enjoy the lake at the left hand side, or take a stroll around the mountain at the right hand side. In addition to the large lake where you can row and waterside pavilions along, the park also boasts many willow trees and flowers, exquisite sculptures, as well as a large beach for children. You can visit here on foot, by bike or with a rented battery car on spot.
