Longqing Gorge

Beijing Longqingxia World Geological Park is located 10 kilometers northeast of Yanqing County. It is a typical northern karst landform of the Cenozoic era since 40 million years ago, and is the remains of marine sedimentary strata and sedimentary structures from 1.85 to 800 million years ago.

Longqing Gorge combines the beauty of the southern landscape with the majesty and grandeur of the northern landscape. The gorge is winding and the river is long and clear. The cliffs on both sides are precipitous and the forests are dense. The exposed limestone forms peculiar shapes. The caves and the stalagmites, pillars and faults in the caves formed by water erosion over the years are very similar to the rocks of Li River, and are breathtaking!

Longqing Gorge is one of the new sixteen scenic spots in Beijing. It has passed the ISO9001 quality system certification and ISO14001 environmental system certification. In 2002, it was rated as a national AAAA-class scenic spot.

The wonders of Longqing Gorge have been highly praised by Chinese and foreign visitors. More than twenty CPC and state leaders and several foreign leaders have also visited this place.
