Stop 2 The Grand Canal Museum of Beijing

The design of the Beijing Grand Canal Museum draws inspiration from three elements of the ancient canal scene: boats, sails, and water.

The Grand Canal Museum has a building area of approximately 99,700 square meters. It features four main types of exhibitions: permanent exhibits, special exhibitions, open displays, and temporary exhibitions. Visitors board the "Canal Boat," experiencing a journey through time to engage in a dialogue with the millennia-old culture of canal transport.
On the second floor of the exhibition building, the "Beijing and the Grand Canal History and Culture Exhibition" is currently being held. This exhibition focuses on the close relationship between the Grand Canal and Beijing, highlighting the themes of people, water, and the city. It tells the story of the canal's development from its inception in the Spring and Autumn period to the present-day Grand Canal Cultural Belt, showcasing over a thousand artifacts.The "Immersive Experience Exhibition" on the third floor features the largest three-dimensional diffraction system installation in any domestic museum, allowing visitors to travel through time and explore the Grand Canal.
The museum also offers five cultural and creative spaces: Canal Scenery (cultural and creative space), Canal Bookstore (reading space), Dockside Café, Canal Dining Boat (dining services), and Canal Shop (cultural and creative experience), providing souvenirs, dining, and other services.">The design of the Beijing Grand Canal Museum draws inspiration from three elements of the ancient canal scene: boats, sails, and water. Stop 3 Beijing Performing Arts Center

The Beijing Performing Art Centre is located in the urban green heart of the forest park on the south bank of the canal, which looks like a cluster of sails on the canal from afar.

In terms of performance programming, the Beijing Pergorming Arts Center will feature classic productions from the National Centre for the Performing Arts, allowing simultaneous performances. Additionally, it will introduce musicals, modern dance, avant-garde theater, and immersive performances, expanding the range of performing arts and creating a vibrant cultural hub for young audiences.
Since its official opening at the end of last year through mid-May 2024, the Beijing Arts Center has hosted 104 performances and 106 art events.
