Yunmeng Mountain Great Wall Relics Park (北京云蒙山长城遗址公园)

Covering an area of 7,000 mu, Yunmeng Mountain Great Wall Relics Park is 90 kilometers away from the northeast Beijing. It runs east along the Miyun Reservoir, and west near Yunmeng Mountain. The park winds along the lofty myriad mountains and often concealed in the clouds, renowned as “Mount Huang in North China”. Some of the existing Great Wall relics in Yunmeng Mountain Great Wall were built during the Beiqi Dynasty. However, most of them were built during the early Ming Dynasty. The Great Wall is a pure stone structure, from the Northeast toward the Southwest and stands like a majestic piece of Stone. Every year, the park holds various activities as Mid-autumn Moon Festival, Golden Autumn Chestnut Festival, Height Ascending Festival etc.

The walls of Yunmeng Mountain Great Wall Remains were built from mountain stones with rammed earth inside. Due to its falling into disrepair in Qing Dynasty, the top half of the great wall was incomplete, while the bottom half of the wall was mostly well-preserved. The wall winds in the valley, together with a three sided tower that consists of: the general tower, the square tower and the circular beacon tower. Once called the four-tower mountain, this cultural monument is worth visiting, even if it’s viewed from a distance.
