The Ancient Tree Fossils is located in Xiadelongwan Village, Qianjiadian Township, Yanqing District, Beijing. This scenic spot is surrounded by beautiful waters and mountains and is famous for fossilized tree and is as wide as 1,000 meters and as long as 2,0000 meters. These fossils are scattered on the surface of the ground or deep under the ground.

The Ancient Tree Fossils are situated in the eastern mountainous area of Yanqiang District which stretches as long as 26 km and as wide as 6-8 km. In the park there are rich and precious geographic relics, among which 20 sites have been protected. The earliest and most recent geological forming time span can reach up to 2 billion years and pose as the most complete and most precious native tree fossils.

Of them the wood fossils in Qianjiadian Township are the largest-scale and best preserved wood fossils in the north of China, and these fossils originate from 140 - 180 million years ago.
