Beijing Books Building is a flagship bookstore with the largest scale, the most abundant book varieties, and the earliest use of information technology and management mode among Beijing's state-owned bookstores. Its consistently market-leading sales and scale of operation have made it the “No.1 bookstore” in China. Adopting a diversified operation, it mainly sells books, audio-visual products and other cultural products. It boasts all sorts of book publications at a number about 330,000.
In an open sales method and with a business area of 16,000 square meters, this four-storey book building offers social science books and maps on the ground floor, original books and literature and art books on the second floor, cultural and educational books, stationery and audio-visual products on the third floor, and science and technology books and children's books on the top floor
In April 2004, it opened a sales area for foreign publications on the B1 floor.
