Juyongguan Great Wall

Juyongguan Great Wall is one of the famous ancient military passes in China, which has been a majestic pass to guard the land and the border since ancient times. There are overlapping mountains, flowing streams, luxuriant vegetation and pleasant scenery. It enjoys the reputation of "72 scenes of Guanghou". As early as the Jin Dynasty, it was ranked as the first of the "Eight Views of Beijing" with the "Juyong Diecui". The Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty wrote "Juyong Diecui" by hand for it. For over 700 years from the Jin Dynasty to the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the first scenery of the eight scenic spots in Beijing has been the “Juyong Diecui”. Juyongguan Great Wall is a combination of majestic, strange, dangerous and steep, spanning the Cuiping Mountain in the east and the Jingui Mountain in the west. It is like a Peng spreading its wings, with a total length of 4,142 meters, and has been called "the first majestic pass in the world" since ancient times." "Juyongguan is treacherous with numerous peaks, and ten thousand miles of the golden pass secures our borders in directions." These two lines of poetry by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty illustrate the majesty and danger of Juyongguan.
