Xinglong Park (兴隆公园)

Covering an area of 1017 mu (67.83 hectares) and facilitated by convenient transportation, Xinglong Park is surely a bright green pearl in rapidly developing southeast Beijing. The place is rich in various trees and plants, twittering birds and flower fragrance, green rippling lake suitable for rafting (water surface area: 30,000 square kilometers) and fishing.

The park is known for its White Jade Stone Bridge. There are a water-side pavilion on the west side of the lake, an octagonal double-eave-roof pavilion on the mountain on the south side, and the Lanyue Pavilion on the north side. Visitors can also leisurely row a boat on the artificial lake.

There is a riding club in the north of the park, you can pick a good horse and race in the forest. In March 1994, Liu Huaqing, former vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), led 58 generals to plant trees in the park - the trees, known as the General Forest today, has become a unique scenic spot. Xinglong Lakeside Pavilion, Octagonal Pavilion and the Pavilion of Embracing the Moon also locate here.
