Wulong Gorge Scenic Area (乌龙峡谷景区)

Beijing Wulong Gorge Scenic Area is formerly named Heilongtan (Black Dragon Lake). Flanked by steep cliffs and grotesque rocks, the gorge features resounding torrents and blowing spindrift. It’s also famous for green mountains, deep valleys, clean water and pools. The valley here is not very long, and yet equipped with a winding trail, by which hikers can overlook the springs and brooks below as they ascend.

In the mountains, there are many karst caves with stones in different shapes where many ponds are located. The steep cliff on both sides of the gorge is created by the nature. Walking on the bridge of 1 km long along the steep cliff, you will see picturesque scenes around you and water falling into the ponds below you. In the Scenic Area, the steep cliff, beautiful mountains, strange rocks and flying waterfalls, tranquil caves and layers of clouds in the sky, as well as lush trees bring you delights by the wild environment. Due to the changes of the earth’s crust in ancient times, the straight and tall mountain with outstanding peaks and steep cliffs was formed, standing beside the Baihe River. Moreover, there are many springs here flowing all the years around, converging into a large stream before falling from the cliff of several decameters high, thus forming a wonder featuring roaring sound and flying spays.
