The east-west width is 24m, the north-south width is 10.5m, and the total height of gate tower and terrace is 26m. Since 1950, walls of the gate's barbican have been demolished one after another. In 1957, the gate tower and embrasured watchtower were demolished. In 2004, the gate tower was rebuilt, excluding the barbican and embrasured watchtower, and Yongdingmen became the first rebuilt gate in Beijing.
