Tianyun Mountain(天云山)

With enchanting landscape and rising layers of hills, Tianyun Mountain Scenic Area distinguishes itself from countless attractions of eastern Beijing by magnificent, fantastic, elegant, and beautiful scenery."Strolling in Clouds", a glass bridge has been opened to visitors following its famous glass skywalk. Stretching over two mountains, the 2m-wide bridge is about 1,000m above the sea level, hanging in midair around 300m and spanning a length of over 200m. Together with the 600m2 square sightseeing glass platform, 500 viewers can walk on air at the same time. Tianyun Mountain is a combination of imposing vigour of northern mountains and graceful disposition of southern peaks. When you reach the top of Lotus Peak, the major peak, by hiking or tram rail, you can look south and will amaze at the grand landscape of China that consists of myriad stones and rocks; look north and feast your eyes on tens of thousands of gullies; look west and follow with your eyes the ancient Great Wall built with smoke towers winding along Tiger Hill; look east and a famous verse of a Chinese ancient poem will come to your mind: “I will reach the top and hold all mountains in a single glance.” Connecting two mountains, the “Walking-in-clouds” glass bridge of Tianyun Mountain is over 200 meters long, 2 meters wide, falling 300 meters on an altitude of over 1000 meters. It is attached to a huge square glass observation deck, which covers an area of 600 square meters. Either the bridge or the deck can accommodate 500 persons at the same time.
