Fuyou Temple

Fuyou Temple, located at the east of the north end of Beichang Street in Xicheng District, was built during the reign of Emperor Shizong of the Qing Dynasty.

The temple faces south. The gate of the outer enclosure wall, situated in the southwest corner, faces west. On the axis line, from south to north, are a screen wall, a decorated archway, an entrance gate, the Bell and Drum towers, Tianwang Hall, the Mahavira Hall and the back hall.

Fuyou Temple

Fuyou Temple, located at the east of the north end of Beichang Street in Xicheng District, was built during the reign of Emperor Shizong of the Qing Dynasty.

The temple faces south. The gate of the outer enclosure wall, situated in the southwest corner, faces west. On the axis line, from south to north, are a screen wall, a decorated archway, an entrance gate, the Bell and Drum towers, Tianwang Hall, the Mahavira Hall and the back hall.

The horizontal boards over the decorated archway and the main hall bear the calligraphy of Emperor Yongzheng. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, the office of the Panchen Lama’s representative in Beijing was set up in this temple.
