Yaoqiao Ancient Castle

This mysterious castle hidden in the outskirts of Beijing is not only mysterious but also unique. It is not called an ancient city, but an ancient castle because there is only one gate and the place with two gates can be called a city. Therefore, this ancient castle is called Yaoqiao Castle.

Yaoqiao Castle is 130 kilometers northeast of Beijing and 60 kilometers away from Miyun. It is the only well preserved ancient castle in the Ming Dynasty around Beijing. It was built in the Ming Dynasty and served as a city guarding the border. The descendants of frontier officers and soldiers live here, and there are only 60 households.

The walls of the castle are made of stone, very solid and unique. It is wide and flat on the walls. When you walk on it, you will feel like going back to ancient times and forget the glitz of the city.

The natural environment here is superior; the mountainous area is vast; and the vegetation coverage rate is more than 95%. There is a national first-class forest park in the east and Simatai Great Wall in the west.

Besides, you can enjoy the country life here. There is a bonfire party in the evening, which will not let you down.
