Founded in the fourth year of the Xiankang period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (338 AD), Hongluo Temple is the birthplace of Buddhism and the largest Buddhist jungle in northern China. For more than a thousand years, it has enjoyed a very high status in the Buddhist community. The last two generations of ancestors of our Pure Land Sect were related to this temple. There is a saying that "In the south there is Putuo Temple and in the north there is Hongluo Temple".
