Founded in 1925, it is a famous restaurant serving imperial dishes in Beijing. In 1950's, the restaurant changed its name into "Fangshan Restaurant", and was famous for its "Manchu Han Imperial Feast" at home and abroad. The restaurant was previously most famous for its Minced Meat with Sesame Cakes, Pea Cake, and Small Corn Flour Steamed Bread. Therefore, it changed its name from tea house to restaurant later. Although the restaurant was renamed as "Fangshan Restaurant", diners can still enjoy traditional Beijing snacks here.

Fangshan Restaurant features gorgeous decoration, with interior furnishings in royal style and names of dishes as poetic beauty.
Dishes of Fangshan Restaurant are all exquisite in shape and color. They inherit the features of royal cuisine in the Qing Dynasty—clean, fresh, crisp and tender. Its specialties include stir-fried pork fillet, stir-fried sliced fish, stir-fried pork kidney pieces and stir-fried prawns; fried hazelnut purée, fried minced meat pea sauce, fried stir-fried cucumber purée, fried carrot purée; crisp chicken, crisp fish, crisp meat and crisp seaweed; tofu, braised Chinese cabbage with chestnuts. Presently, the cooking skills of Fangshan Restaurant have been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage.
