Baodufeng

Baodufeng, a kind of time-honored Beijing snacks, was founded in the Guangxu period in the Qing Dynasty. The founder of Baodufeng, Feng Lishan was a native of Lingxian County in Shandong province. Feng Lishan sold its snack in Beijing Houmenqiao. In the last years of the Guangxu period, the second generation of Baodufeng was run by Feng Jinhe. The taste of Baodufeng was favored by the imperial painter and the eunuch. After the recommendation of the eunuch in the royal palace, Baodufeng became a special dish of the Qing imperial dining room. However, the supply to the royal disappeared when the Qing government collapsed. In order to maintain business, Feng Jinhe moved his store to Qianmen, and then Baodufeng was known as one of the small Six-State Restaurant.
