Tianjin Zoo

Tianjin Zoo started to build in 1975, and after five-years construction it was opened to the public in January 1, 1980. located in the south end of Tianjin Water Park, Nankai District, Tianjin Zoo attracts around 2,000,000 visitors every year.
The zoo covers an area of 53.77 hectares with 10.6 hectares of water area. It now has about 200 animal species and many national protected animals such as panda, Panthera tigris ssp.altaica, Rhinopithecus,Budorcas taxicolor and Grus japonensis etc.
As one of the ten top spots of Tianjin, Tianjin Zoo combines functions as distinct protection of wildlife, science popularization education, scientific research and leisure and entertainment. It has built a dinosaur park of Jurassic period which is the largest one in Asia. The zoo has also built a long-term cooperating relationship with national zoos or foundations of different countries like America, Britain,Germany, Holland, Japan and Russia etc.
