Bai-yang Lake

Baiyangdian Lake is located in the middle of Hebei Province, and there are 143 lakes of differnent sizes, among which Baiyangdian Lake is the largest, so it is called Baiyangdian Lake in general. The story of Yanling Team, a water guerrilla in the China’s Resistance War against Japanese Agression, is very popular. In 1982, Baiyangdian Lake dried up, and in 1988, heavy rain restored Baiyangdian Lake area. In addition, as the representative work of Xu Guangyao, a famous contemporary writer, the novel Little Soldier Chang Ka-tse received great popularity throughout the country, making Baiyangdian a tourist attraction. On May 8, 2007, Anxin Baiyangdian Scenic Spot of Baoding city was officially approved by the National Tourism Administration as a national 5A-level tourist scenic spot. It is an ideal place for weekend short-distance travel in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
Baiyangdian scenic spot has a large area, with dozens of kilometers deep inside. There are some islets among the lake, and have been developed into several major scenic spots. There is no access between the islands and the land, so tourists can only take boat. At present, there are many scenic spots, such as Lotus Grand View Garden, Exotic Garden, Baiyangdian Culture Garden, Yuanfei Lotus Garden, Baiyangdian Treasure Island, Fisherman's Paradise, Leisure Island, and Yuanyang (Mandarin Duck) Island, etc. Some of these scenic spots may be alike, so you don't need to visit them all, choosing 2 or 3 based on your own interests.
