This is the fourth store of Model Bookstore in Beijing, which was formerly a century-old Christian church. Through the change of times and reinvention of functions, it is dedicated to exploring the true meaning of culture.
The bookstore is located in the 112-year-old Christian Church and has been renovated twice on the basis of the original building. The reinforcement enhances the practicality of being a bookstore. The façade windows and doors of the main entrance are in the imitation Gothic style, while the hill wall and roof are in the Chinese style of the Qing Dynasty. The exterior of the building has a sense of historical vicissitudes, and traces of restoration can be seen in some places. The charm of the church can be seen in the towering dome, the splendid stained glass windows, and the octagonal pavilion skylight that blends East and West.
