The architectural design of the Beijing Pergorming Arts Center is inspired by ancient canal granaries and is hailed as a "Cultural Granary." Covering an area of 125,000 square meters, it consists of three independent buildings, including four indoor theaters—the Opera House, Concert Hall, Drama Theater, and Small Theater—and one outdoor amphitheater.
The Opera House features the country's largest and most comprehensive immersive sound system, while the vineyard-style Concert Hall boasts a prized "French Romantic" pipe organ. Equipped with 8K, 5G, AR, VR, and surround sound technologies, visitors can experience the latest in "art + technology" applications.
In terms of performance programming, the Beijing Pergorming Arts Center will feature classic productions from the National Centre for the Performing Arts, allowing simultaneous performances. Additionally, it will introduce musicals, modern dance, avant-garde theater, and immersive performances, expanding the range of performing arts and creating a vibrant cultural hub for young audiences.
Since its official opening at the end of last year through mid-May 2024, the Beijing Arts Center has hosted 104 performances and 106 art events. It has attracted over 54,000 audience members and 96,000 visitors.
