Capital Museum

The Capital Museum began its construction in 1953 and officially opened to the public in 1981, originally located at the Beijing Confucius Temple, a nationally protected historical site. The new Capital Museum building officially opened in May 2006. It has five above-ground floors and two underground levels, with a total construction area of 63,800 square meters. The unique architectural design embodies a harmonious blend of past and future, history and modernity, art and nature.
The basic exhibition of the Capital Museum was newly unveiled on February 10, 2024, and is titled "A Powerful Witness to Chinese Civilization: The General History of Beijing." Currently, the first to eighth units of this exhibition are open to the public and are located in the central hall.

The exhibition is based on the Capital Museum's collections from past years and newly unearthed artifacts from the Beijing area. It incorporates the latest research in Beijing's history, cultural relics, archaeology, and related disciplines, while drawing on valuable experiences from museums both domestically and internationally. The exhibition emphasizes key historical milestones in the development of Beijing, presenting a narrative that is both accessible to the general public and deeply engaging for experts. The content has been updated to include recent archaeological discoveries and new research findings on Beijing's history.

Yuyuantan Park

Yuyuantan Park, a AAAA-level scenic spot, is located in Haidian District. The main scenic spots of the park consist of the cherry blossom garden in the west, the diversion lake scenic spot in the north (partially completed), Zhongshan Island in the south, and Liuchun Garden in the east. The park holds the "Cherry Blossom Viewing Festival" every spring.

Yuetan Park

Yuetan Park is located in the west of Nanlishi Road and south of Yuetan North Street in Xicheng District, Beijing. Originally named "Xi Yue Tan", it is one of the five altars in Beijing. It was built in the ninth year of the Ming Dynasty (1530) and was the place where the Ming and Qing emperors worshipped the god of the night (moon) and the heavenly deities on the autumnal equinox.

When it comes to the imperial products of the Qianlong period, we all know that they were made by the palace workshops during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Among all the Qianlong imperial objects, the one with the greatest weight and both historical, technological and artistic values is the Qianlong imperial tablet at the entrance of the Capital Museum. Because of its special significance and value, it has also become a treasure of the Capital Museum.
