National Museum of Classic Books (国家典籍博物馆)

Relying on the rich collection of National Library, the National Museum of Classic Books is aimed to display China’s classics and promote Chinese culture. It is a new development of the social education function of the National Library. It’s a comprehensive museum that integrates classics collection, display, research, protection, public education, cultural heritage and cultural leisure. The museum not only is the center of collecting Chinese classic books but also a center of classic books exchange worldwide.

Approved by State Commission Office of Public Sectors Reform, National Museum was set up in July 2012 as the first museum of classic books in the entire country. It is also a museum that has large areas of books in the world. Located at Zhongguancun Nandajie, Haidian District, the museum covers an area of 11,549 square meters. There are 10 exhibition halls in the museum which provide visitors a spacious place to appreciate the classics.
