Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution

The Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution is one of the top ten buildings constructed in Beijing to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The museum chronicles the glorious history of the revolutionary wars led by the Communist Party of China and showcases the great achievements in the development of the People's Army. It is also an important venue for preserving the military wisdom of China's 5,000-year history and for enhancing national defense education.

The building of the Military Museum itself is a historical artifact. Notable features include the plaque above the main entrance inscribed by Chairman Mao Zedong and the 6-meter-diameter military emblem on the roof, both of which are invaluable and irreplaceable relics. In 2014, to ensure public safety, this "large artifact" underwent a three-year renovation. The total area expanded from 60,000 square meters to 150,000 square meters, and the exhibition area increased from over 30,000 square meters to nearly 70,000 square meters. The museum now has four open floors: basement, ground floor, second floor, and third floor. It showcases more advanced weaponry and equipment, transforming it into a modern, high-level, comprehensive military museum that looks towards the future and the world.

The Military Museum's core exhibits include displays on the Revolutionary War led by the Communist Party of China, the defense and military construction of New China, weaponry, the military history of China's dynasties, military technology, and the Red Memory exhibition featuring revolutionary military artworks from the collection. In addition to these permanent exhibits, the main building of the Military Museum also hosts large-scale themed exhibitions and temporary special exhibitions.
