Sound of Hutong Museum（胡同声音博物馆）

The museum is a venue of Shijia Hutong Museum, and it is the first sound museum in Beijing. Its founder, Qin Siyuan, hopes to record Beijing’s history with sound. He said “Sound is a part of culture, undertaking the history and memory of this city, but it is disappearing or has already disappeared, so we need to record such a unique history”.

At present, there are over 200 kinds of sound recording the history of old Beijing, the figure will surpass one thousand in 5 years, at the same time, an Online Sound Museum will be opened to record the past and the future of Beijing.
