It houses collections about 150,000 pieces, containing vital manuscripts of Lao She, Cao Yu, Guo Moruo, etc., and precious literature left by Ying Ruocheng, Zhu Lin, Zheng Rong, etc....

This museum shows the half-century history of Beijing People's Art Theatre, the life and achievements of drama masters such as Cao Yu, Jiao Juyin, through presenting rich pictures, manuscripts, models, customes and other exhibits. In addition, the museum also displays classic moments, works, stages and theoretical construction of Beijing People's Art Theatre.
It also hold activities about drama, theatre and play, such as theme exhibitions, academic seminars, art research book publishing, to interact and communicate with people from all walks of life. It provides a open and free environment for drama audiences and professionals.
The museum building is a pavilion-like shape with yellow glazed tiles on the roof and a roofed corridor around the exterior, imitating traditional Chinese architectural style.
Housed in an elegant Soviet-style building, the Beijing Capital Theater is part of the Beijing People’s Art Theater that is located at northern end of Wangfujing Street, one of the busiest areas of Beijing.
As a new representative of the third generation of small theaters in China, it not only has perfect hardware facilities and excellent performances, but also regularly hosts various cultural activities every year.
It has produced and performed more than 300 classic plays.
