China Customs Museum

The historical relics from customs bear witness to the development of China's customs history. Examples include roof tiles engraved with the character "关" (customs) and a wooden plaque inscribed with "津海新关" (Tianjin-Haiyang New Customs), written by Li Hongzhang. Contemporary customs artifacts showcase the advancements of New China's customs, such as the appointment letter of the first Director-General of Customs for New China. Additionally, there's a diverse array of smuggled items confiscated by customs, including an 11th-century Avalokiteshvara statue, snow leopard specimens, Northeast tiger skins, and more. With over 32,000 existing collection pieces, the museum offers a rich and engaging journey.
