Beijing Archaeological Site Museum is an archaeological museum combining underground ruins with historical exhibits. It is based on the south city water gate ruins of Zhongdu, the capital of the Jin Dynasty, dating back over 840 years. The museum covers an area of 2,500 square meters. Its underground section features the architectural remains of Zhongdu, which is currently the largest ancient capital water gate site in China. This site serves as an important example for studying ancient Chinese architecture and hydraulic engineering.
The main exhibition in the museum is the "Historical Exhibition of Zhongdu of Jin Dynasty," showcasing over a hundred cultural relics from various historical periods. The Liao and Jin Stone Inscription Hall displays nearly 20 precious stone inscriptions from the Liao and Jin periods, including valuable items such as tomb epitaphs in Khitan script from the Liao Dynasty, Jin Dynasty stone tigers, stone statues of civil officials, and stone statues of military generals.
