The A Building's Planetarium Hall is the largest horizontal planetarium hall in mainland China, equipped with world-leading technology. It features the Zeiss Model IX optical planetarium projector and the world's highest resolution full-dome digital projection system. These allow for the realistic display of over 9,000 stars visible to the naked eye from Earth to an audience of 400, with an 8K resolution dome image capable of virtual celestial demonstrations, 3D space simulations, and digital program playback.
The B Building houses three science theaters: the Universe Theater, the 4D Theater, and the 3D Theater. It also includes the Astronomy Exhibition Hall, Solar Observation Deck, Public Observatory, and Astronomy Classroom, among other educational facilities. The Universe Theater, with its 18-meter diameter dome screen, can present a grand and immersive full-dome experience to 200 spectators simultaneously, a unique feature in mainland China.
Notably, the renowned Beijing Ancient Observatory is part of the Beijing Planetarium. The eight ancient astronomical instruments displayed on the observatory's roof are national first-class cultural relics, which are treasures of Chinese astronomy. These exhibits attract a constant stream of visitors from around the world every year.

Located within Beijing's West 3rd Ring Road, Zizhuyuan park is near Baishi Bridge in Haidian District, west of Beijing Capital Stadium. The park was built in 1953 and was named after the temple"Fuyin Zizhu" built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the northwest of the park. It has the chic bamboo garden of the Shu Nan Bamboo Sea and the landscape of Ling Shi Meadow of the Rabbit Ears Ridge.
From the first year of the Zhengtong period of the Ming Dynasty to 1929, the ancient observatory was engaged in astronomical observation for nearly 500 years. Therefore, it is the station with the longest history of continuous observation among the still existing ancient observatories. In addition, it has a long-standing international reputation for its architectural integrity and complete instrumentation.
