Yangtai Mountain Natural Scenic Spot (阳台山自然风景区）

Yangtai Mountain Natural Scenic Spot is located within Bei'anhe Township in the northwest of Haidian District, 15 km away from the Summer Palace. It has a land area of 16 square kilometers. Jing-Mi Canal runs slowly in the eastern part to the southeast. With lush forest of abundant old trees covering 94% of the total area, and is one of the best sunrise-watching locations.

Many scenic spots are scattered in the mountain, from Jiufeng National Forest Park famous for its winding mountain roads, to Dajue Temple with a history around a thousand years. Every spring, flowers like apricot, peach, pear, apple and cherry are in blossom all over the mountain.

Since the ancient times, Yangtai Mountain has been the famous natural scenery resort. Jinshui Courtyard (now Jinshan Temple) and Xiangshui Courtyard, two of the famous "Eight Major Water Courtyards of West Mountain during the period of Jin's Zhang Zong are located in the green pines and emerald green cedars of Yangtai Mountain.

Jinshan Temple is known in the capital city for its "three uniques".The first unique is the Gongsun Forest. The Gongsun tree is commonly known as ginkgo. It is the famous life fossil of plant in China. The second unique is the Jinshan Spring, named after the Jinshan Moun. Jinshan Spring is one of the famous springs in West Mountain of Beijing. Spring water is sweet and pleasing. The third unique is the Lord Guandi in Yuqing Hall. The statue of Guang Gong is in a solid style, with severe look and a tablet in two hands, showing a restrained motion. The niche was carved with dragons and phoenix, which had been unfortunately ruined. The Jinshan is famous for its forest, spring and temple and is a good place for people take a rest and holidays.
