Jiaoxiangyuan Pocket Park

Xiang'er Hutong belonged to Jiaozhong District in the Ming Dynasty and was called "Xiang Hutong". After the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed "Xiang'er Hutong" due to the long history of using the word "Xiang" in its name. Because Xiang'er Hutong is known as the "most fragrant" hutong in old Beijing by locals, it was named "Jiaoxiangyuan".

The park's construction continues the ancient capital style of the capital, preserving tall trees, adding pavilions, and planting local plants to create a garden atmosphere of blue bricks, winding paths, tree shadows, and bird songs.

Considering the geographical location of the pocket park, the crowd who usually come here for leisure are mostly elderly people and children living in the hutongs. In the park's design, the traditional three-step platform of the corridor was reduced to one step, and ramps were also set up to achieve barrier-free access throughout the park. Most of the leisure seats in the park are designed as low wall benches with backrests, which are convenient for the elderly to rest. The spacious main square provides ample play space for children.
