Beining Park

Tianjin Ning Garden, now known as Beining Park, is located north of Tianjin Railway Station. The park covers an area of 57 hectares, including 18 hectares of water.
The idea of building a palace for Empress Dowager Cixi in the garden was well thought out in terms of planning and design. However, although the garden was completed, Empress Dowager Cixi never stayed there.
Beining Park has undergone multiple constructions during the late Qing Dynasty, the Republic of China, and after the liberation. The park's architectures and historical relics from different periods are exceptionally rich, making it the largest and most intact modern public park in Tianjin.
Ning Garden follows the classical gardening technique of using buildings as the main landscap. The water is distributed appropriately, with lakes connected to each other, and 29 bridges of different shapes and sizes spanning both sides. The more than 2,000-meter-long winding corridor connects the pavilions, towers, and galleries around the water pools, forming a silent guide for Ning Garden.
