Qinhuangdao Museum of Glass was built in December of 2010, and is the first national glass-themed museum. The museum covers an area of 11.25 mu and has building area around 2822 square meters. It consists of four sections: exhibition hall, relics park, themed canteen and office zone. The museum contains public cultural facilities combining collection, research, education, presentation and leisure.
National Maritime Museum of China is built and managed jointly by Ministry of Natural Resources and Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, and it is the only national comprehensive maritime museum in China, which combines collection, exhibition, research and education into one.
Tianjin Ning Garden, now known as Beining Park, is located north of Tianjin Railway Station. The park covers an area of 57 hectares, including 18 hectares of water.
The idea of building a palace for Empress Dowager Cixi in the garden was well thought out in terms of planning and design. However, although the garden was completed, Empress Dowager Cixi never stayed there.
The exhibits mainly include daily necessities, clothing, plaques, cooking utensils, furniture, and other old objects from that time, telling the history of Tianjin's old city.
